Llandysul Division 1 and 2 slalom

This event is open to all Division One and Two slalom paddlers. The start sheet will be published here 2 weeks before the race.

Here is some additional information that I hope will help.

Venue:- River Teifi, Llandysul, Carmarthenshire. (O.S.Map 146.Grid Ref. 415403)

On behalf of Llandysul Paddlers I would like to welcome everyone to Llandysul for this years Division 1 & 2 Slalom, I hope that you all have a safe journey and a very enjoyable weekend I have listed some information for you if you need anything additional please give me a call on 01559363209 or 07900570440.

For camping there are a couple of fields available at the canoe centre both fields are on the river left Bank of the River and up stream of the road bridge. Access to the fields can be gained adjacent to the fire station and opposite the Wilkes Head Pub.  The camping fee for the weekend is £2 per person per night, please pay in Control. When you arrive please be sensible about parking and keep all the roads and tracks free from blockage the best place to park is in the campsite fields. Our Canoe Centre will be open and has accommodation for the first 35 guests (Fully booked now).  The cost is £8 per night.

Access to the River can be gained from under the road bridge on river right or from the second campsite field.

Water may be obtained from a tap in the big boat shed or from the centre.

The Club Cafe will be open in the clubhouse from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on both days.

If there are any problems or late entries please report to control, which will be situated in the Club House.  Anyone who is interested in being a Judge should report to Control before the Judges meeting which will be held at 9am on both days.

In the interests of safety please supervise under sixteens at all times, especially on the River Banks and crossing the roads. 

Also can Competitors who finish their run please stay on the water to act as safety for the next three Competitors.

Directions

Location:-       From the end of the M.4 follow the A48 to Carmarthen.

At Carmarthen  head  for Lampeter then follow signs for Pencader and Llandysul - Approximately 15 miles. The centre is yellow and green and is next to the bridge in the village. 

If you are travelling from North Wales then you will have a few options. One of these is following the coast road down to Aberystwyth and onto Synod Inn where you will then have to head inland following signs to Llandysul.

Please note that Llandysul has now got a new bypass so keep your eyes open for the new brown canoe centre signs

We also have a new lake on the camping field so please be careful when arriving late at night.
