WHITE WATER SAFETY AND RESCUE COURSE

COURSE DATES:

Thursday and Friday 26th and 27th February 2009

Monday and Tuesday 22nd and 23rd June 2009

Friday and Saturday 17th and 18th October 2009 

START AND FINISH

The course starts at 9am and finishes at 5pm
PRE-COURSE EXPERIENCE: You should be confident paddling on grade 2-3 water and be a confident swimmer in grade 3 white water.

THE AIM OF THE COURSE:

This course encourages safe white water paddling by teaching simple and effective leadership techniques and river running skills for most white water situations. You will also look at rescue strategies and techniques for situations where a rescue cannot be avoided. This course is now also a pre requisite for the BCU 4 star award.

EXTRAS:

Included in the price is accommodation and you can also use the Centre's Kayaks and paddles.

WHAT WILL I NEED TO BRING:

You will need to bring with you all your canoeing equipment.

WHERE WILL I STAY:

You can stay in the centre. All bedding is provided

FOOD:

No meals are provided as part of the course but there is a self-catering kitchen in the centre.

COST:

The cost of the course is £90 + VAT including accommodation.
