Candidates should be water confident and ideally able to swim.
THE AIM OF THE COURSE:
The One star is a clear stepping stone to becoming a paddler. Designed as a basic award, the One star is the level people whould typically reach after an introductory course of six hours quality water time.
AFTER THE COURSE:
It is hoped that at the end of the day you will be a better paddler and have gained the BCU One star award.
EXTRAS:
You can use any of the centre equipment including kayaks, Canoes and paddles.
WHAT WILL I NEED TO BRING:
You can bring with you any canoeing equipment you may have and a change of clothes.
WHERE WILL I STAY:
This is only a one-day course put if you are travelling a long distance then you can stay in the centre - all bedding is provided.
FOOD:
No meals are provided as part of the course but there is a self-catering kitchen in the centre.
COST:
The cost of the course is £25.
