BCU Four Star Generic Assessor Training Day

 

Stage 1; Obtain a 4 Star Assessors Log from your Home Nation

this is avalible to discipline specific Level 3 Coaches (or coaches that have held UKCC level 2 coach for 3 Years), who also hold a four star.

Stage 2; Complete the 6 initail tasks laid out in the log, and return to home nation.

Stage 3; Attend a 4 Star Generic Assessor Training Day

This day is mainly delivered in the classroom and covers the following areas

  • An outline of the new personal performance awards

  • An overview of the 4 Star Leaders Award including

  • prerequisites

  • Understanding of remit and venue

  • Level of Personal Skill required

  • What Leadership at this level means

  • Skill Acquisition

  • Lesson observation forms and the use of

  • 4 Star theory and level

Use of 4 star trainer and assessor notes

The quality assurance process

General assessment and training principals

7 Steps of assessment principal

Exercises to re-enforce the 7 Steps

Use of skill acquisition and lesson observation forms for a 4 star

Stage 4; attend a 4 star discipline specific Assessor Training Day

 This is a practical day on the water, looking at

  • The specific syllabus

  • Required standards of personal performance and use of skill acquisition

  • Forms of leadership and how leadership would be taught / assessed

  • Safety and Rescue: how these skills are taught and assessed

Stage 5; Complete you individual action plan

Stage 6; Recive an Endorsement from a registered 4 star assessor

Stage 7; Be assessed running a 4 Star Assessment

Llandysul Paddlers will run Stages 3 and 4 together over 2 Days. We will be delivering either WW kayak or Canoe specific days on a demand basis.

FOOD: No meals are provided as part of the course but there is a self-catering kitchen in the centre.
COST: £150 this includes accommodation but excludes any BCU / WCA fees. +VAT
